New YORK Health benefits info


COBRA provides former employees, spouses, and dependent children the right to temporary continuation of health insurance coverage at group rates for those who have lost their jobs due to certain specific events, including layoffs.

New York State of Health Exchange Navigator Program
If you are in need of health insurance, you are eligible for free Health Care Exchange Navigator services. Exchange Navigators will meet with you and help guide you through the process of applying for health insurance through the Health Exchange, Medicaid or Child Health Plus.

These free services are available at Local 338's Office (1505 Kellum Place, Mineola, New York 11501) on Mondays and Tuesdays. To schedule an appointment with a Navigator please call 516-281-0288.

Prescription Discount Program

The Partnership for Prescription Assistance helps uninsured and financially struggling patients who lack prescription coverage get access to prescription assistance programs that offer medicines for free or at a discounted rate. Familywize Prescription Drug Discount Card is a program run in partnership with the United Way that provides a discount on prescription drugs at participating pharmacies. For more information and to download your free discount card, or call 800-222-2818.

Needy Meds provides information and resources that can help you to afford your medications and health care costs. For more information, visit: or call 800-503-6897.
